On Monday 12th and Tuesday 13th October, pupils from Oak, Rowan and Willow classes visited the Sherman Theatre in Cardiff to enjoy the exciting production of Balloon Girl.

Inspired by the true story of Louisa Maud Evans, the show took us on a thrilling adventure through 2,000 years of Welsh history, blending fact, fantasy and plenty of humour!

Pupils and staff thoroughly enjoyed the spectacular setting, wonderfully funny characters and imaginative storytelling. The performance was full of laughter, surprises and memorable moments.

For many of our learners, visiting a busy theatre was a new experience, bringing different surroundings, unfamiliar routines and new challenges. We were incredibly proud of how well our pupils embraced the experience, demonstrating confidence, resilience and maturity. They were wonderful ambassadors for Nyth-y-Deryn, and it was a real pleasure to see them enjoying themselves in a new environment.

It was a fantastic opportunity to experience the magic of live theatre, discover more about Welsh history and enjoy learning beyond the classroom.

A brilliant experience, made even more special by how proud our pupils made us!
