As part of our Personal Growth and Life Skills curriculum, pupils at Nyth Y Deryn have enjoyed an exciting opportunity to work alongside Willis Construction on a range of improvement projects around the school. 

Our learners helped build benches, install and paint a new fence, and create unique pieces of artwork that will be proudly displayed around the school. They were also shown how to assemble and dissemble scaffolding, which peaked lots of curiosity! These activities gave pupils the chance to develop a range of practical and teamwork skills, being able to ask the Willis Construction team lots of questions, while building confidence and taking pride in their achievements. 

The projects have made a lasting impact, not only by improving our school environment but also by giving pupils a sense of ownership and accomplishment. Seeing and using things they helped create has been a wonderful source of pride (which is brilliant for wellbeing!) for everyone involved.
