We are delighted to announce that Y Deryn has officially joined the Careers Wales School Valued Partner scheme, marking the beginning of an exciting new partnership with Sacyr Construction.

The School Valued Partner scheme recognises employers who actively support schools and their pupils through meaningful engagement in careers-related activities. This initiative is designed to strengthen the connection between education and the world of work, offering young people valuable insights into a wide range of career paths and helping them develop the essential skills needed for future success.

Through this partnership, Sacyr Construction will work closely with Y Deryn to provide students with a variety of enriching experiences, including:

• Interactive workshops and career talks led by industry professionals

• Site visits to active construction projects, offering real-world exposure

• Mentoring opportunities to guide students in their career planning

• Hands-on activities and challenges to build teamwork and problem-solving skills

• Work experience placements for older pupils considering careers in construction or engineering
