A group of dedicated learners at Nyth y Deryn have recently completed a hands-on construction course with a heartwarming twist—designing and building a custom dog agility course right on the school grounds for our beloved therapy dog, Oreo.

The project, which combined practical construction skills with creativity and compassion, was part of a vocational learning initiative aimed at giving students real-world experience in planning, measuring, building, and teamwork. Over several weeks, learners worked together to bring their designs to life, constructing tunnels, jumps, weave poles, and ramps—all tailored to Oreo’s size and needs.

The agility course not only enhances Oreo’s physical health but also provides a fun and interactive way for students to bond with her during breaks and therapy sessions.

The agility course stands as a testament to the learners’ hard work, teamwork, and the positive impact of vocational education. It’s also a reminder of the joy and comfort Oreo brings to our school every day.
